Arc of Monroe County offers community residential facilities that meet the needs of individuals with a range of abilities. These supervised apartments and homes accommodate from two to 11 individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities.  Individuals learn important skills to remain as independent as possible, such as preparing food, managing money and using resources in the community.

Three of these residences are located in Pittsford. Last Saturday, the Rotary Club of Pittsford, invited the residents to a Christmas party.  It was held at Calkins Road Middle School, thanks to School Superintendent and Rotarian, Mike Piro.  With the assistance of ARC staff, the individuals arrived at noon and were treated to Christmas carols courtesy of Lynn and Manny Freshman and Interact volunteers.  The Interactors also set-up some games and decorated the room with holiday cheer.  Wegmans donated the deli sandwiches, potato salad, pasta salad and cole slaw. Santa Clause stopped by to greet the residents and hand out Christmas gifts.  Many residents got scratch-off lottery tickets and were thrilled when they won.  One lucky individual won $10.  He is a train enthusiast and he said that he will use his winning ticket to purchase a model train.

Traditionally held on a weekday for the 19 Church St. residents, this is the first time that the Club held the Christmas party on a Saturday and invited all three Arc residences in Pittsford.
