For 33 years, Operation Food Basket operates as a sub-committee of the House of Mercy in Rochester, NY, and has been providing holiday food and cheer to families in the Rochester area.  The goal is to help those families who fall through the cracks in our social system. These families would not be able to have food during the holidays without the help of Operation Food Basket. Those who receive the food are selected by two agencies, The House of Mercy Mission and The Finger Lakes Developmental Disabilities Service. By the end of the annual Operation Food Basket campaign, an estimated 73,000 pounds of food will have been shared with the community.

Last December 22, 2014 Pittsford Rotarians led by Roger Zangelein gathered at the Xerox warehouse on Phillips Rd. in Webster to pack, then deliver a week's worth of food to families in Rochester.
