Our usual venue, the Pittsford Public Library was unavailable due to a Town wide meeting on the 15th of October. Therefore, Program Chair, Matt O'Connor arranged for a tour and meeting at the Pittsford Volunteer Ambulance.  The room that they provided us was more than enough to accommodate everyone.  Other than the EMT volunteers, who split the group into two for the tour, we were joined by Patrine Gardner, Emma's mom.  She flew all the way from Australia to visit her daughter.  Unfortunately, Emma was unable to join us.

Today's get to know your fellow Rotarian was Jerry Elman.  Jerry grew up in Syracuse, NY. HIs parents, were both Holocaust survivors.  They instilled in him many of the values he possesses today. Jerry began his professional career at Kodak in 1980. While there, Jerry was unhappy with some of the inequalities faced by women and minorities. He used his influence to bring forth change to Kodak’s corporate environment. Jerry left Kodak in June 2006 after 26 years and is now the owner of Schoen Place Auto located in East Rochester. Jerry lives in Honoeye falls with his wife, Janet.

We had no keynote speaker, so our meeting turned out to be a Club Assembly.  Malcolm Bugler announced the Board decision to have a 4th fund raising event, which, if successful, will eventually replace the Golf Scramble. Pete Crooker reminded everyone to support the Election Night Pasta Supper. Steve Wilterdink reminded us that this is RI Foundation month; Harold McAuliffe needed volunteers to distribute dictionaries and to sell Pasta Supper tickets; Pat Mallery needed volunteers to join him in two Interact activities this weekend: Erie Canal Path Clean Sweep and Honor Flights; Grace Soong announced that the Rotary Leadership Seminar on Nov. 3 is "free" to first-time attendees, a brief summary of the last Board meeting decisions and a reminder to attend the Eastern Cities Dinner on October 27.
