The Arc of Monroe County offers a variety of welcoming, caring community residential facilities that meet the needs of people with a range of abilities. The Rotary Club of Pittsford  hosts a Christmas party annually for as many as thirty-seven ARC of Monroe residents, staff and executives who live and work at any of the ARC residences in Pittsford. Twelve Rotarians, three spouses and fourteen Interactors signed-up to host the event last Saturday, Dec. 3.

Rotary exchange student Julie Poisson and Rotarian Pat Mallery picked up the food donated by Wegmans.  They arrived at Calkins Road Middle School around 10:30 a.m. Thanks to Pittsford School Superintendent Mike Pero, the venue was free of charge. Pat asked the Interact Clubs of Pittsford members to be there by 10:30 to help move the food, games and decorations to the dining area.  They set-up two aisles outside the school's serving area for the buffet lunch.  Other than ice, we didn't use anything from the CRMS kitchen.  They also helped with decorating the Christmas tree, set-up, clean up and tear down.

The Interact Clubs of Pittsford also celebrated with a sheet cake for dessert to commemorate having logged 20,000 hours of community service over the past fifteen years.

Pat brought the song sheets we use for Candlelight night and Harold McAuliffe led the sing-along.  Julie played the piano and Victoria Soong played Christmas songs from her I-phone. Rotarian Gaven Hurley played Santa again this year and he gave each of our guests five scratch-off lottery cards for their Christmas presents.
