The event is free and open to the public at the Shady Rest Shelter and Powderhorn Lodge at Powder Mills Park in Pittsford. Reg istration starts at 8 a.m. and is also available in advance online. The fishing contest will run from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.\, followed by an awards c eremony and fish hatchery tour at 11:30 a.m. The club is sponsoring the event with the Town of Pittsford Parks and Recreation Department. Co-spo nsors include the Monroe County Department of Parks and Recreation\; O’Gr ady and Associates Financial Advisors\; the New York State Conservation O fficers Association\; Bullseye Sportsfishing Charters\; and the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation. Special thanks to The Rie dman Foundation for funding and operating the hatchery and making the Pit tsford Rotary Club Fishing Derby possible. The Fish Hatchery at Powder Mills Park will be stocking fish for this event. Donations will be accept ed on their behalf. Scouts from the Seneca Council Boy Scouts of America will be helping to promote the derby as part of their fishing merit badg e program. Rotarian and fishing enthusiast Harry Womeldorf organized the club’s first “Kids Derby” in 1997. Since then\, more 3\,500 children have taken part in this Western New York event.
