Food items needed are taco shells\; collard greens\; spinach\, beets\; olives\, lima beans\; m ushrooms\, pizza sauce\; salsa\; rice sides\; spaghetti (long varieties)\ ; plain oatmeal\; croutons\; bread crumbs\; crushed\, stewed\, pureed or whole tomatoes\; Spam\; corned beef hash\; clams\; mackerel\; herring\; o ysters\; anchovies\; tuna\; pasta\; corn\; green beans\; peanut butter\; cleaning supplies\; razors\; women’s hygiene products\; and cat and dog f ood (dry). For the Bike Drop\, bicycles or bike parts in any condition wi ll be accepted for donation. The bicycles and parts will be donated to R Community Bikes\, a Rochester-based charitable organization that repairs and distributes bicycles free of charge to Rochester’s children and adult s in need. “Pittsford’s Rotary Club has collected 2\,366 used bikes since 2010 and we hope to increase that total number considerably this year\,” said Steve Wilterdink\, who is coordinating the effort for the club. “It ’s a good time of the year to spring clean your garage while helping peop le in need.” For many\, bikes are frequently the most affordable means of transportation to jobs\, schools\, churches\, rehabilitation and trainin g programs\, and meals at local social service agencies.
