This week, we were joined by exchange student Emma Gardner and soon to be member, Colleen Farley.

We started our agenda by learning to sing the 2014-15 Rotary song in Taiwanese Hokkien. Needless to say, we were terrible.  Even though we were lead by Harold McAuliff.

ImageJim Cameron took the mike to tell us a little about himself. Jim cameron has been a Rotary member since 2001. What involved him with Rotary is because a favorite aunt "Gene" met a Rotarian and they would travel the world going to international conferences. Then a member asked if Jim had an interest and he jumped upon it. He finds it interesting since he is an independent business owner and Rotary has introduced him to a lot of business people in the town of Pittsford. Jim grew up in Scottsville in a funeral home on Rochester street that recently changed ownership after 105 years. He was exposed to  sole proprietorship through his family and thinks that exposure has helped him to develop his business and survive for 35 years. Jim has been married to Debra for 32 years. They have 2 sons: Alex, a lawyer in Brighton, and Maxwell, who lives in Brooklyn, and works in New York City. They both go down often and explore the surroundings and have been to the 9/11 Museum, Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, Metropolitan Museum of Art, Little Italy, walked the Brooklyn Bridge, and planned on attending a Broadway musical soon. Debra and Jim usually drive and stay in Tarrytown directly across the Tappan Zee Bridge and take the Metro North into Grand Central.

Our keynote speakers were Grace Soong and Gaven Hurley.  They talked about some of the highlights of the 2014 RI convention in Sydney, Australia.  This was Grace's first RI convention.  Gaven has attended several conventions and talked about some of his experiences at previous events.
