Dr. Suresh Goel, Pittsford Rotarian Jai Goel's son, was our guest speaker. Rotarian Bob Vukosic and Dr. Goel's patient, introduced him. Dr. Goel talked about causes, prevention and solutions to tooth decay and loss.

Colleen Farley editor of Pittsford Neighbors and Brighton Neighbors, and former Pittsford Rotarian, joined us today. Matt thanked Colleen for featuring Pittsford Rotary Club in her magazines.

We were also joined by Lou Bircher and Colleen Snyder who may be interested in joining our Club. Welcome, ladies!

Rotarian Gretchen DiNardo reported on the welcome home party for District 7120's returning Exchange students.  Rotary Club of Pittsford budgeted $350 for food and beverage. The catered lunch was scheduled at Calkins Road Middle School on Sunday, August 14 at noon. Despite a number of confirmations, nobody from the school district showed up to open the school doors for the guests. At the very last moment, Gretchen switched the venue at her home. Many thanks, Gretchen, for hosting the event and for all the work that you do for District 7120's outgoing (and returning) exchange students.

Camp Haccamo's Carnival Night  on Thursday, August 11, from 6 to 8 PM at Rotary Sunshine Camp was sponsored by the Rotary Club of Pittsford.  The Club purchased sponsored $350 worth of concession treats: 125 servings of cotton candy, 125 servings of snow cones, 250 servings of popcorn.  Bruce Spector volunteered to make and serve  cotton candy to the campers.

Gaven left hospital for home on Friday. He reported no more pain in his hip. He refused prescription painkillers and is recovering the old-fashioned way.  Gaven anticipates returning to Club meetings in September.  Our Club sent a get well card thanks to Roger.

Still on winner of the 50/50 raffle.
